What is values circumplex model?

The values circumplex model, based on Shalom Schwartz's theory of basic human values, maps ten universal values — security, achievement, benevolence, power, universalism and others — across a circular structure that reveals how they relate, compete and motivate behaviour. Adjacent values on the circumplex are compatible; opposing values create tension. Understanding where someone sits on that circle tells you not just what they care about, but what will and won't resonate with them.
