Task
A single unit of work to be completed within a process or flow.
The unit of doing
A task is a clearly defined action that can be assigned, tracked, and completed. It’s the most granular step in a workflow: small enough to act on directly but meaningful enough to move a process forward.
In Decidr, tasks can be created by humans or generated dynamically by AI agents as part of flows.
Context in Decidr
Tasks are the building blocks of execution inside an AI org. Everything you want to achieve, from launching a product to hiring a new team member, eventually breaks down into tasks. Decidr makes these tasks dynamic and connected.
Instead of static to-do lists, tasks in Decidr know their purpose: they’re tied to goals, metrics, and the beliefs that justify their existence. An AI agent can generate new tasks when data signals change. For instance, creating a followup when customer satisfaction dips, or triggering risk review when costs exceed a target range.
This creates living workflows that adapt in real time. You don’t have to manually update lists every time conditions change; the system evolves them for you. Tasks also travel cleanly between agents and humans. One agent might handle the first steps (e.g., compiling data), then hand off to a person for judgement, before another agent automates followup.
By structuring work at the task level, Decidr gives organisations a transparent, auditable trail of how progress unfolds. It’s clear why each step exists, how it links to higher level goals and where automation or human input fits best.
